Long time no see... or post... whatever you want to call it!
May and June were and still are some crazy months at our house and I am so behind! I plan on catching anyone who actually reads this silly blog up though! Let's start with the biggest event... 23 years in the making:

It is official... I am a TEACHER!!! I graduated on May 8th! I accepted a job not long after that at Diamond Ridge Elementary teaching second grade. This will be our schools first year open and I am super excited to be a part of that! Anyway back to graduation...
I was once told a story about a veteran war pilot who was given the chance in his lifetime to meet the man who packed his parachute. This parachute saved his life. I was reminded of this story on a friends blog and it got me thinking. How many times in life do we let the people who "pack our parachute" daily, go unnoticed. I for one know that I take many of the people in my life for granted, it is something I need to be better about voicing. So here it goes:

To my parents- Thank you for instilling me with love for learning, and a passion for literature. Who knows where I would be in this life had you not placed an emphasis on these values in our home. Thank you for giving me my independence and letting me fall when I believed I was right. Thank you for helping me back up during these times. I am forever grateful for your patience and your love.

To my siblings: Thank you for making me laugh and teaching me patience :) I love you for it! I have a blast with all three of you!

To my friends: Thank you for listening to me whine about homework and giving me breaks when I needed them! Even though school practically eliminated my time for a social life you still invited me out and continued to do so after all the turned down offers! You girls always make me smile when I see you. And Al... my days would just not be right without your texts!

To my classmates: What a wild ride! The early morning classes, the laughing, the crying, the stress, the fun... I would have died without you guys! Melinda, Michelle, Magda, Joe, and Mat... Thanks for all the crazy memories! You guys will all be amazing teachers. I have learned many things from all of you and I am so glad our paths crossed! We have to get together soon!

and last but not least To my Husband: Your patience astounds me. This last year of school, all 51 credit hours of mine, was stressful. BUt, you were always there for me and supporting me. Teaching is something I love and you have always supported me in the pursuit of my goal, even though my pay checks will never do our sacrifice justice. Thank you for coming to teach science in my class, thank you for letting me spend every penny on books, and thank you for constantly listening to stories about my kids! You are one of kind and I love you! Without you this never would have happened!

I can not believe that college is really over. I look forward to my new job, it will be an adventure to say the least. But, I look back on my college years with fondness. One adventure over, and another just beginning.
I can't wait!
